Behind the Scenes at The Felt Petal Shop – November Updates

Hello lovely readers! It’s been a busy, sparkly whirlwind here at The Felt Petal Shop, so I wanted to pop in with a cosy little update, a hot chocolate in hand (and probably a dog or two under the table).

We’re deep into the Christmas crafting season, and my work desk looks like a cheerful explosion of holly, berries, leaves, petals, and very suspicious glitter trails. Orders have been flying out—especially my felt holly wreaths—so thank you all so much for keeping me delightfully busy.

This past week has been a mix of creative chaos and tiny victories. I’ve been starting work on lots of ready-made pieces, which is something I’m hoping to offer more of in the new year. It means quicker posting times and more choice for you lovely lot! There’s something wonderfully satisfying about having a tray full of neatly cut leaves and petals, all lined up like little soldiers ready for assembly.

I’ve also been researching  new packaging ideas, including recycled tissue paper and  tags. Sustainability is really important to me, so I love finding ways to make my parcels eco-friendly while still looking pretty as a picture when you open them.

Speaking of parcels — I’ve finally taken the plunge and upgraded to a thermal label printer! No ink, no faff, just crisp, clean labels and customs forms at the push of a button. My daughter is already eyeing it suspiciously for her card-selling adventures, so I’ve had to declare it a Shared Household Treasure.

And because handmade life is never boring, I squeezed in a pottery taster class last week! I made some hand-built bowls (rustic charm included for free). My hands weren’t thrilled with the effort, but it felt good to try something different.

That’s all for now, but I’m hoping to keep this blog updated more regularly, especially as we head into the new year with lots of exciting changes planned — new products, ready-made collections, and maybe even a little break over Christmas before the big January refresh.

Thanks as always for reading, supporting, ordering, favouriting, sharing, and just being here. You make this felt-filled journey worthwhile. 💛

See you soon for the next update!
